It's really Monday again, isn't it?? Man how the weekend flies by!

I need you're opinion on something. A few weeks ago, if you had asked me about blue eyeshadow, I would have scoffed at you and told you to not be a 12 year old. Now, however, I have seen some that looks pretty cool.... examples:

Review: Maybelline's Dream Mousse Concealer

Hello dolls!

I recently read a post on another blog about how amazing Maybelline's Dream Mousse Concealer is-- long-wearing, really pigmented, etc.-- so I decided to give it a shot!

You can pick this up as Walgreen's for $7.29-- and right now they have a BOGO 1/2 off sale.

I kind of remember when this first came out thinking that it would be waaay too creamy for my oily skin, and also that I had heard about the Mousse foundation being cakey... I was pleasantly surprised that this worked so well!!

I mostly use concealer for under-eye darkness and around my nose.

Notice how it fills in my pores, too? Huh.. just noticed that, lol!



















I am really super impressed with this concealer!! It really covers well-- it doesn't take much-- and it stays ALL day! I was pretty stuck on Maybelline's SuperStay concealer, but this covers almost better and without being so dry looking. The only thing is that there aren't a lot of shades, so choose wisely-- I just happened to get lucky with picking the right one, haha.

*Tip-- use a concealer brush for better coverage with this. =)

Review: Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Correcting Powder

Hello Beauties!

I've been selfish and had these pictures for awhile and never posted a review... apologies. =)

Ok-- so up for review today is Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Correction Powder in Translucent. (about $12 at Wal-Mart).


What it claims, as per their website:

3-In-1 Corrector + Primer + Powder

• Versatile powder color corrects the most common skin imperfections, smoothes skin texture and evens out skin tone.
• All colors blend together to create a perfect canvas finish: Pink brightens, Green tones down redness and Yellow adds warmth.
• High-tech Japanese formula delivers a natural-looking finish that won't cake, crease or settle into fine lines.

I'm going to be honest with you-- I was first interested in this product merely because it looks pretty. I mean, check it out!


























But then I read the above claims and thought, "Hey, this might not be a bad investment."

Just be careful--- the powder is a little too eager to get away from the compact, haha! Use a gentle hand~






















Let's talk about coverage. Here is a picture, with one side bare and the other with this powder (applied with a Kabuki brush):














It evens out redness pretty well! I am actually quite impressed with this powder-- you can use a concealer brush to concentrate it, too, such as the capillaries on your nose and even as a nice alternative to eyeshadow. Score!

The ONLY this about it is, with my combination skin, applied alone (i.e. not on top of foundation) it tends to only stay til about mid-afternoon... minor flaw in that you can just reapply more! It builds nicely. DRY SKIN GIRLS! This is probably too powdery for your sking =( and OILY GIRLS! Like I said, it doesn't have too much staying power, and it sucks to think of putting on a primer and then this, which claims to be a primer as well.

Definitely fun to play with!

Review: MAC To the Beach!

Hello, all!

Time for review of the collection I was so excited for-- MAC's Summer 2010 To the Beach!

When I went to the MAC counter, the specialist told me that the idea of the collection was "To look dewy, like you were glistening, with bursts of color."
Well, let's see!

*I tend to like to look at pictures on blogs rather than read a lot of text, so I've transferred that to my blog -- apologies for all of the pictures of well, me, but I think before/after photos really demonstrate products well!

First off: Bronzer in Get-Away Bronze

With just concealer/mascara on:



























With Bronzer:




























The woman said (repeatedly) that she thought that bronzer was a little too dark for me-- I told her I like to double-up bronzer as a contouring tool, and she stopped, haha. I think it's quite natural! It has great staying power, doesn't settle into fine lines/pores, and it has enough warmth to it to not even use a blush. Nice!

Bronzer on the back of my hand-- it has a nice shimmer to it, but not too intense. Pretty!

















Up next! Lipstick in Thrills:

No color:












With lipstick:











I couldn't quite get a picture of the exact color--- it has this undertone, but it is a Frost lipstick, and has so much copper in it that that's really the color that pulls from it. I'm used to more of a pink color on my lips, so I haven't been convinced I'm going to keep this just yet... still might possibly get returned. =\ Also, as you can see in the picture, it feels moisturizing but completely shows the fine lines on your lips. Eh.


Moving on!
Eyeliner in Rosemary and Thyme:

This was actually an "oops" photo-- but it shows the color of the eyeliner AND the shimmer of the Marine Life High-light:





















The green is a great color! Not too bright, but enough to where you can tell it's green! It slightly fades by the end of the day-- that's my only qualm with it.

As you can see, the High-Light powder is definitely a shimmer and not glitter-- good job, MAC!


Here is the completed face with: concealer, mascara, Rosemary and Thyme eyeliner, Get-Away Bronze bronzer, and Marine Life High-Light powder. (No Lipstick).
