Feedback Friday!!

Hello loves!

After a few weeks of having a sort of weekly format for the blog, I wanted to get some feedback on what you as a reader think about what you see. I really want to tailor posts to what YOU like to see, so please take a moment to participate 2 little polls.

If you'll direct your eyes to the right, you will see said polls-- PS you can select multiple answers!

I'd really appreciate you participating, and please feel free to leave feedback in the comments or email me at BeautyMaven8@gmail.com

Thanks again, and have a fabulous weekend!!

Until next time--

Technique Thursday-- Quick change! Day-to-Night makeup

Hello!

I had a very good friend request a Day-to-Night post, so here goes!!

The easiest way to go from a a day look to a night look is to take your normal day makeup and glam-up the eyes, since eye makeup pretty much stays put all day, whereas other products (concealer, foundation) need to be retouched. You can use a wipe for your face, if need be, keeping the eye makeup from the day intact to utilize in your evening look.

Starting face-- makeup from the CARGO Safari Kit, featured here:

If you can do only 1 thing then add eyeliner. A quick swipe of black on the inner rims does wonders for sprucing up your look. Also, add powder on your nose, forehead, and chin to reduce any shine from the day-- don't put powder on cheeks since you want a natural, healthy glow!

If you have a minute longer, add to the previous with a bold lip color. I'm using Maybelline Color Sensational in Pinkalicious, (review here), and black liner to the top lid~ sort of a Marilyn look. If you want to refresh your cheeks, do not  reapply blush, simply add a shimmery highlight to emphasize your cheekbones.

A few more minutes to spare? Instead of doing the lip, opt for a quick smoky eye. You already have the liner, so add a dark eyeshadow to the crease and blend, blend, blend!! Then use a vanilla, shimmery shade to highlight the "inner-v" and also the browbone. A nice sweep of bronzer on the cheeks adds healthy color to compliment your smoky eyes!

Any thoughts on this? What do you do to go from day to night? Tips are always appreciated! =D

Until next time--

Tried-It Tuesday-- 3-D Eyes with Lorac and HD Concealer

Bonjour!!

Soooo today I received a lovely surprise in the mail-- A "Thank You" card with a Sephora gift card!! Whaaa?? SO NICE! Thank YOU for feeding my addiction. ;)

Later that afternoon I went to the Sephora inside my JCPenney to play.. with intent of purchase, haha!

First up:

Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre, $16 at Sephora
What it is: "A shimmering topcoat for eyes or cheeks."

Layered over neutral colors.

Silly eye, but I want you to be able to see it!

It's funny--- In store, I was super excited about this product. But once I got outside, I really wasn't very thrilled. It errs on the side of "glittery," which I am not a fan of. You can see the chunks in the top picture. It actually really photographs well, giving the "wet eye" look (ex: Cameron Diaz) but in person... trust me... not so much. Play, but don't buy.

Next up!

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer, $28 at Sephora
What it is: "An oil-free, medium-coverage concealer that covers imperfections while remaining invisible to high-definition televisions and the naked eye."

Used on both eyes~

This was an "oops" picture, but look how you CAN'T EVEN SEE THE CONCEALER.

Concealer after a Jillian Michael's butt whooping work-out-- It has staying power!

I LOVE THIS CONCEALER. It's a bit pricey, so I think I might go play with it again before purchasing, but I am seriously enamored. I've never seen anything like it-- though, a good alternative is Maybelline's new FIT concealer (review here).

I walked out of Sephora without buying anything-- but rest assured, this weekend I shall have some new goodies. More details tomorrow for What's New/Want It! Wednesday.

Have you seen any new products lately that you're curious about? Played with anything fun? Tell me stories!! =D

Until next time--

Mascara Monday-- Maybelline Volum' Express One By One

Hello lovelies!

Hope everyone had a great weekend-- a 3-day for some? Jealous!! ;)

For today we have Maybelline's new Volum' Express One By One mascara, around $7 at drugstores.

What it claims (as per the packaging):
- Exclusive lash catcher brush catches, coats and de-clumps every single lash for our most refined volume from root-to-tip.
- Instant clump-free volume.
- Ophthalmologist tested. Contact lens safe.
- Removes easily with soap and water.

Let's take a look!!

Tube straight from the package.

Close-Up of Brush.

Bare (upper) lashes.

Bare (upper) lashes.

Comparison-- half done.

Completed!

Ooh la la!

I'll go ahead and give you a hint: I LIKE this mascara. It was extremely easy to use and gave great volume with no clumps-- except a few little "balls" on the tips. Odd. But great definition-- I was truly impressed by this mascara! Definitely a volumized look...

I didn't fade or flake all day, so that's good news for contact wearers. It doesn't give crazy length (still good, though!), but the volume is quite honestly enough for me to feel like I have lovely, fluttery lashes. Mmm =) I even daresay that it added a smidge of a curl.... ooooo...

In a flash~
Approved! I like it, and it's definitely worth a try! A great volumizing mascara. Go, Maybelline!

What do you think? Will you try this? Have already? How do you feel about molded brushes? Leave me some thoughts! =D
