FOUND IT Friday!!!! And A new favorite~

Happy Friday, all!

Hope everyone had a nice St. Paddy's! If it was a little TOO nice, here are some tips to looking refreshed this morning ;)
- Moisturize!!
- Don't use dark eyeshadow, it will accentuate any darkness under the eyes.
- Use Mascara on top only, and curl your lashes to look more awake.
- Highlight your cheekbones.
- Wear a pink gloss, since pink is lively and youthful.

*Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Day 6: Benefit, Smashbox, and Murad. Free Benefit Brow Wax with $50 Benefit purchase, at participating locations.

I am happy to say, that I finalyl have in my possession Physician Formula's new Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum, $10.99 at Ulta.

Here is what it claims, as per PhysiciansFormula.com:

Whoo! Looks promising, huh?

Let's take a look:

This was my mess-up, but I wanted to show that it's not a felt tip pen, but rather a tapered brush-- it applies like a charm!!

FYI I made the liner uber thick.

I chose the brown shade since it's more likely I'll wear it every day than black. It also comes in Purple (I have yet to see it) and Clear, so you can wear it at night. I'm trying my best to wear it every day, and there will be a comparison post soon. =)

In the meantime, I'm having fun with this eyeliner! It is SO EASY to apply! I love the brush tip-- and it's so tapered that you can make teeny lines!

A small enough line to liner the bottom lashes-- nice! (And a double-wing-- getting risky! Haha!)

I would like to introduce you to my new favorite colored liner, Urban Decay's new 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Delinquent, $20.00 at Ulta.

This is a chubby pencil meant to be used as a liner or a shadow-- it REALLY has staying power!!

Compared to a typical size liner.

On top of PF Liner~

As a shadow~

Love the color!!!!

Yay liners! What do you think?? You should try using a bright liner this weekend! ;)

Until next time--

Tried it Tuesday-- This Physician has me blushing! Concealer that FITs, and a painful experiment..

Hey everyone!

I hope wherever you are, you're staying warm! We've had some snow/ice so it's been a good time to stay inside and work on some projects that have been put off, like my Magazine Binder~

What's that, you ask? It's a way for a magazine junkie, such as myself, to get rid of numerous issues without missing out on the articles I liked. For example, here are all of the magazines I wouldn't throw out--
Yeah, I might have a problem... or a PASSION! Yeah, let's call it that. ;)
So I went through the OTHERS (haha) and ripped out things I liked-- ads, inspirations, articles, fun clothing combos, etc. and put them in sleeves and then into a 3'' Pink binder I found, yay!

(Oh, and I have another one that's solely for "Beauty" stuff.. do dooo...)

Little tabbies for easy reference! (Not labeled, yet!).

Anyhow! Now that I've had some fun showing off my project, let's get to Tried it Tuesday!!

First up: Physicians Formula Happy Booster Mood and Glow Booster line (as discussed on last week's Want It! Wednesday.) Includes~ powder, bronzer, and blush. $11.95 at Wal-Mart
Available colors: Translucent, Beige, Light Bronzer, Bronzer, Natural (blush), and Rose (blush).
I picked up the blush in Natural:
ADORABLE!

Brush included underneath-- cute idea, but don't use it. It sucks.

Love!

I absolutely ADORE this blush!! Not only is the packaging to die for, but the formula is wonderful as well! It gives a hint of color and sheen, without being "sparkly"--more of a healthy glow-- and it has a decent staying power.

As far as the "Happiness" from using it? I'd say it's there! Haha-- but not from their science-y additions, but rather 1. The pink compact, 2. The adorable hearts!, 3. The ease of application, and 4. The pleasant scent. For those of you who are worried about that, just know that it only lasts during the time of application-- you don't smell it throughout the day or anything.

Next up: Maybelline's new FIT Me! concealer, $6.49 at Ulta.
What it claims: "Blends seamlessly to cover under-eye circles & imperfections. Matches natural tone, never blotches, never cakes."

Let's take a look!
Nice, clean packaging.

Normal sponge-tip applicator.

Concealer on left side, bare on right for comparison.

Concealer on left side, bare on right for comparison.
I actually really like this concealer! Which is a big deal, because I am very picky with Mascaras and Concealers. It indeed does blend seamlessly (do you see a line? nope!), builds without getting cakey, and has a bit of moisture without disappearing after an hour. They also seem to come in a nice variety of shades (I'm wearing 10-Light). My ONLY complaint is that I got a little crease right under my eye a few minutes after application, but that could be because I applied too much, because when I dabbed it, it never returned.

I'm really excited to try other items from the line!!

Last but not least- my experience with an Epilator, aka your own personal torture device.

Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator Kit, $59.99 at Ulta, ($19.99 at TJMaxx).
What it claims: "Remove excess body hair fast and painlessly at the root. Contoured heads match body's natural curves for expert hair removal. Massaging action gently massages skin once the hair is removed. Two speed settings accommodate both fine and coarse hair textures. Also incorporates moisturizing comfort technology that soothes skin with moisturizing relief. Provides up to six weeks of hair-free results."

I actually don't have many pictures for this, but I will give you a very nice description!
(... 6 weeks my a**. Maaaaybe a week, but not 6.)

First of all, you have to let your hair grow a little bit~ about 1/8 of an inch~ enough to where one of the 42(!) little tweezers can grab it and yank it out. So be sure you do this before a hot date, haha.

Speaking of-- don't do it the night before, either, or else your legs might get irritated and look like this:

Enlarged for detail-- see all of the red spots?!

As far as "pain", this really wasn't pleasant. Surprising, I know. Try tweezing your leg hairs and report back to me. I will admit, however, that you do get used to it after a few minutes, haha! Horrifying, huh?! I don't know if that was due to the "massagers" or not, but if really was tolerable after the initial shock. Afterward there wasn't any pain, so to speak, but my legs did itch a bit, and the next morning the red spots were gone.

Epilator vs. Shaving:
-Since the epilator removes at the root, if you normally still have the black dots after shaving, they're gone with the epilator.
- Epilating takes longer (about 20-30 min per leg), but you also only have to do it every 4-6 days.
- Shaving is definitely easier and less painful.
- For the love of Pete DON'T try the epilator on your armpits-- ahhhhh!!

In a flash!~
Happy Blush: Go buy it! I know I'll be picking up more. =D
FIT Me! Concealer: Definitely worth a shot if you're looking for a new concealer.
Epilator: Only if you HATE shaving with a passion and like pain every now and then.

What do you all think? Tried any of these? Want to? Excited? Not excited? Let me know!

By the way, I've entered some blogging contests recently, so if you have a moment to comment I would LOVE some feedback! =) Thanks!

Until next time--

What's New/Want it! Wednesday-- Happiness in a compact, Super powered make-up, Clinique's getting attention, and a foundation that FITs!

Hello there!

Since my blog has been getting some attention lately, (omg freakin' amazing, thanks all!), I decided that we'll have a few WANT IT's for this Wednesday!!

First up:

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Mood and Glow Booster line~ powder, bronzer, and blush. $11.95 at Wal-Mart
Available colors: Translucent, Beige, Light Bronzer, Bronzer, Natural (blush), and Rose (blush).

By the way, wouldn't these Sephora brushes be ADORABLE with these?!

What the powders claim:
-Ultra-soft and blendable blushing powder features a fresh and vibrant mix of blushing tones infused with a pop of color to create a healthy glow. Multi-reflective pearls provide a soft iridescence to highlight, contour, and add radiance to cheeks.
- Infused with out Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
- The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling a joy each time you apply.

I actually have this blush~ I really wanted it, hahaha~ and will be posting pics/review later today! Just a hint though-- see how cute the packaging is?! This doesn't disappoint. ;)
(Btw Emily! I found the eyeliner from last week, but had to choose... and the hearts grabbed me, haha!)

Next up!:

MAC's Wonder Woman Collection:

Please check out the amazing Karen at Makeup and Beauty Blog to see the collection pics~ didn't want to overload this one too much!

Also! They have a pop-up on their site to receive an e-mail when Wonder Woman launches~

Side note while we're at it-- Peacocky is also a gorgeous collection (out now)! I basically want every eyeshadow, but specifically the Mega Metal ($19.50) ones especially Mating Call (purple) and Odalisque (green-ish).

And now!

Clinque's New Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm, $15.00, available in 8 colors.

What it claims:
Super-nourishing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters. Just what dry, delicate lips need to feel comfortably soft and smooth. Eight natural-looking lip tints in all, each with a subtle sheen.

These remind me of Tarte's Lipsurgence lip stains~ I'm going out today and if Clinique has these I am SO playing! =)

Last but not least:

Maybelline's new FIT Me! Line, including coordinating foundation, blush, bronzer, and concealer.
At Ulta, $4.99-$7.99

What it claims:
(As per Maybelline.com)

It's makeup that fits you.
  • No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
  • Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
  • Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
  • Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested

This is basically Maybelline's response to CoverGirl's TruBlend and L'Oreal's True Match-- however, this might truly be better. An Article in Allure stated that "It provides medium coverage and has a natural-looking sheen. With such small pigments, it can lie on the skin and create an even finish. It allows you to build coverage without being caked on." Keep in mind though, this formula does not yet have any shine control, so very oily skins might not like it. (I have the concealer-- review to come!)

So there we go! What are you lusting after at the moment? Any new collections caught your eye? Anything mentioned above? Tried/have anything mentioned in today's post??

Until next time--

What's new/Want It! Wednesday: Phsyician's Formula 2-in-1 Eyeliner..

Hi there!

Who's excited for Spring make-up? This girl!!
Most brands have announced Spring 2011 collections and new products, and this one has caught my attention:

Physcians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum, $10.95 and comes in Ultra Black, Black, and Brown.

Description as per their website:
  • High-tech formula visibly enhances natural lash growth while providing the instant definition of a liquid eyeliner, in one easy step!
  • Lash Boosting complex targets the root of lashes where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes.
  • Innovative and easy to use eyelining tool delivers effortless definition.
  • High-tech Japanese formula is long-wearing, water-resistant and smudge-resistant.
The display for the product states:
-- After 2 weeks, over 75% of women saw Longer, Fuller, More Enhanced Lashes.
-- After 4 weeks, over 91% of women saw Longer, Fuller, More Enhanced Lashes.

The only problem is, I can't seem to find this anywhere! I'll let you know when I get my hands on it..

Anyone anxious to try this? Has it already? Leave me some thoughts!

Until next time--

Review: Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Correcting Powder

Hello Beauties!

I've been selfish and had these pictures for awhile and never posted a review... apologies. =)

Ok-- so up for review today is Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Correction Powder in Translucent. (about $12 at Wal-Mart).

What it claims, as per their website:

3-In-1 Corrector + Primer + Powder
  • Versatile powder color corrects the most common skin imperfections, smoothes skin texture and evens out skin tone.
  • All colors blend together to create a perfect canvas finish: Pink brightens, Green tones down redness and Yellow adds warmth.
  • High-tech Japanese formula delivers a natural-looking finish that won't cake, crease or settle into fine lines.

I'm going to be honest with you-- I was first interested in this product merely because it looks pretty. I mean, check it out!

But then I read the above claims and thought, "Hey, this
might not be a bad investment."

Just be careful--- the powder is a little too eager to get away from the compact, haha! Use a gentle hand~

Let's talk about coverage. Here is a picture, with one side bare and the other with this powder
(applied with a Kabuki brush):

It evens out redness pretty well! I am actually quite impressed with this powder-- you can use a concealer brush to concentrate it, too, such as the capillaries on your nose and even as a nice alternative to eyeshadow. Score!

The ONLY this about it is, with my combination skin, applied alone (i.e. not on top of foundation) it tends to only stay til about mid-afternoon... minor flaw in that you can just reapply more! It builds nicely. DRY SKIN GIRLS! This is probably too powdery for your sking =( and OILY GIRLS! Like I said, it doesn't have too much staying power, and it sucks to think of putting on a primer and then this, which claims to be a primer as well.

Definitely fun to play with!

Anyone else try this? Want to? Or do you think it's overrated? Let me know!

Until Next Time~
