I'm having a craving for TRAVEL-- Review of Cargo's Safari Kit!!

Hey all!!

Sporadic posts-- been kind of busy lately, but I'll try to be better. =)

I have lots of pictures today for you!! For Valentine's day my mom gave me Cargo's new Safari Kit!! =D
It's available at Ulta and also Cargo's Website.

I showed you this first a while back on What's New Wednesday, but now that I have it in my hands, let's take a closer look!

Packaging

Back of Packaging

Back of pouch-- So cute!! Love the colors~

Zipper toggle--- LOVE IT! And the giraffes on the stamps =D

Products included

- Blush in Coral Beach, Mini Triple Action Mascara, Eye Shadow Duo, Lip Gloss in Serengeti, and Eye pencil in Khaki

And the pouch actually holds quite a lot!

Swatches-- gold shadow, Green shadow, eye pencil, blush, and gloss.

The look on-- (I do hair after make-up, don't judge ;)

Eye close-up-- the Green isn't as yellow, I have a pic without flash later~

Side view to show blush.

Close-up of everything~

Shot of shadow without flash-- the green isn't as yellow gold, it is more of a golden olive~

I adore ALL of these colors~ They really excite me because my eyes are dark green with gold specs so it's an absolutely perfect combination, though I really think they would be flattering on most everyone.

My only complaint is that I wish the gloss was bigger, haha! I love the color, but I wish it would have been a full size. As for everything else, A+ Cargo!! The blush is shimmery without being overwhelming, it's a perfect blend of coral + bronzer, and it blends beautifully. Love love love!

The shadows are the same~ shimmery without being glittery (though the gold has larger particles than the green), and the liner has good staying power, even when I played with it on my lower inner rim. I'll do a separate post for the mascara, but just look at these pics. It's pretty great! One of the few molded bristle mascaras that I've tried which actually adds volume. Yay!

I think this kit is to die for. The makeup pouch alone is enough for me, haha, but every product in it really is something you will use multiple times.

Random: I downloaded Google Chrome last night and it is awesome. Also, I really want to take a trip somewhere. Suggestions?

What do you think? Like it? Think you'll snatch one up?? And did my mom do great or what?!

Until next time--

Lips!

Hello there!

Today I would like to share with you 2 lips products which I am loving at the moment:

Wet n Wild Natural Wear Lip Shimmer in Maple, $1.99 at Walgreen's ($0.99 right now!)
Specs:
  • Approved by the Natural Products Association with the Natural Seal!
  • Natural conditioning formula infused with calming ingredients of vitamins and natural oils.
  • Nourishes lips with a hint of moisturizing color and shimmer.
Pics!

It has quite a lot of color, as you can see in comparison to my uber pale lips!, and it feels just like chapstick, maybe slightly more hydrating. If you're more of a lip balm girl but still want some color, I would highly recommend checking this out!! And this week, since Wet n Wild is all 50% off at Walgreens!!
(The only thing is: with it being so colored, you almost have to use a mirror to apply~)

Now, for the MOOD CHANGING GLOSS.
Whaat?! I know, it's super fun!!

Too Faced Mood Swing lip gloss, $18.50 at Sephora
(Pricey, but it was a gift from my awesome Brudder!!)
Specs as per Sephora.com:

What it is:
A selection of emotionally activated, shade-shifting lip glosses that blossom into a variety of pink shades.
What it does:
These emotionally activated glosses transform into a variety of pink shades depending on your mood! The formula contains a healing cocktail of Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Vitamin E, providing lips with instant hydration upon application.
What else you need to know:
Each gloss has its own long-lasting, yummy flavor.

LET'S SEE!!

(I have "Pink Shimmer" which has a blueberry '"long-lasting yummy" flavor, haha.)

Good size tube:

Easy to use squeeze applicator:

It comes out blue-ish (this shade) but adjusts to your "mood":

Bare lips (sorry it's blurry)

First applying~ still a smidge blue:

After rubbing my lips together:

I LOVE THIS LIPGLOSS!!!!! I live in it, seriously. It adjusts to a great shade, just for YOU and it really has some color!! It also feels a-ma-zing on your lips, and really stay on.. obviously, being a gloss, it doens't stay too awfully long, but it actually leaves behind a bit of a pink stain, which is a plus!

Also-- the color adjust based on 1. The pH of your skin, so it's completely customized to you, ooh la la! and 2. Based on heat-- the more I rubbed my lips together, the pinker it became.

Check it~ at a wedding~ ONLY this gloss! (My mood must have been intense, check out that pink!! Haha!)

Both of these get my approval!!

What do you think? What products do you use on your lips??

Until next time--

Red: Part 2/4 -- Red lipgloss!!

Hello!

Okay so part 2 of the Red mini-series, hehe.

My FAVORITE red gloss... and just one of my fave glosses anyhow, is Lancome's Color Fever Gloss in Mercury Rising. It retails for $26, which is WAY pricey, but it is simply amazing. Not to mention is looks like the Holidays! I mean, I just look at the tube and smile. Can't put a price on that, right? ;)

Plus, I've had it since last September and it's still amazing, so nyah! Bang for your buck! =D

Swatches!

Tube:

Applicator:

Bare lips:

That's right, my lips have NO COLOR, lol.

See-- it's red without being in your FACE about it. This would be a good first move into inching into the world of Red lips~

What I REALLY like about this gloss, (besides the amazing formula, shimmer, and shine!) is that it is a genuine red. A lot of red glosses that I have tried tend to come off more pink than red because of the thinness of the formula. This one isn't gloppy by any means, but even with a thin layer it is still obviously red. Score!

I'd put this on your wish list. =D I know I am!!

PS If you're looking for a red stain, Revlon's Just Bitten in Gothic is a great choice! Review here~

What's your favorite red lip product?? Please share!

Until next time~

Estee Lauder: New Lip Collection

Hello!

The other day I went into Dillard's to get some new colors from the Michael Kors for Estee Lauder line, (gorgeous pinks and corals!), and sadly the ONE lipgloss I wanted was sold out! Aww. But then the new Hydra Lustre Lipstick LOVE and Kissable Lipgloss display caught my eye-- 12 new super girly colored lipsticks. Yay!

Then I committed a beauty maven sin-- I purchased a color without trying it out first. No! The coral was just a little bit too bright for my liking.. it looked a little funny against my skin tone. You'll see!

So let's take a look at these... the colors I have are Coral Kiss (both for the lipstick $19.50 and gloss $18):

The Lipstick has "L<3ve" written on the side- cute! Which makes up for the old lady packaging..

The color wears well but is a little on the dry side.

The lipgloss has cute packaging, too!

Lipgloss:

Lipstick: (sorry for the blurriness..)

Lipstick + Gloss:

(See?! Looks like the flash is messed up but this really is the color!)

It has a non-sticky feel and a semi-mango scent. However, as with many glosses, it really doesn't have much staying power. If you're interested in one of the glosses, I'd get the corresponding lipstick just to make sure the color stays put!

I signed-up for a make-up consultation with their visiting make-up artist next week, so I think I'll try out another color and/or return this =\ I really want to like it!

What do you think of this new collection? Love it? Not impressed? Gonna check it out? Lemme know!

Until next time~

Review: Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick and Gloss

Thursday... this week has flown by!

Up for review today is Maybelline's new Color Sensational Lipstick and Gloss.

The Claim:

Why You'll Love It

Fall in love with color, all over again:
  • Crisper color from pure pigments
  • Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
  • Lipcolor so rich, so stunning… it’s sensational
  • 48 Captivating Shades
Which, they do have an amazing range of shades! I have about 5 lipsticks and 2 glosses from this line already. =) The tubes are color-coded in 4 shade ranges: Reds, Pinks, Plums, and Nudes. Look at the adorable packaging!!

The colors I am
playing with today are the lipstick in Pinkalicious and gloss in Cranberry Cocktail.

This lipstick is AMAZING! Moisturizing, makes my lips feel plush, and doesn't bleed --- and if it does for you, they have a matching lipliner! Whoo! And the gloss is amazing, not sticky, and pretty even on it's own because it has a lot of pigment as well. Maybelline got it right with this line!!

Now, I was never a big lipstick wearer. Only for costumey things, for which I'd wear an extreme color like hot pink. With my new job, I wear a black suit and I decided my pops of color would come from jewelry and make-up. This is when I decided to try some lipstick! And it took me a while to find one that I liked... and I'll tell you-- this is it!

AND! A lot of times you can find it for just $5.00 at Wal-Mart or buy-one-get-one-free at Walgreen's. You can't fail, haha!

What do you think? Have you tried this? Will you? Do you wear lipstick or are you purely a gloss girl? Leave me some thoughts!

Until next time~
