What's new/Want It! Wednesday: Phsyician's Formula 2-in-1 Eyeliner..

Hi there!

Who's excited for Spring make-up? This girl!!
Most brands have announced Spring 2011 collections and new products, and this one has caught my attention:

Physcians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum, $10.95 and comes in Ultra Black, Black, and Brown.

Description as per their website:
  • High-tech formula visibly enhances natural lash growth while providing the instant definition of a liquid eyeliner, in one easy step!
  • Lash Boosting complex targets the root of lashes where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes.
  • Innovative and easy to use eyelining tool delivers effortless definition.
  • High-tech Japanese formula is long-wearing, water-resistant and smudge-resistant.
The display for the product states:
-- After 2 weeks, over 75% of women saw Longer, Fuller, More Enhanced Lashes.
-- After 4 weeks, over 91% of women saw Longer, Fuller, More Enhanced Lashes.

The only problem is, I can't seem to find this anywhere! I'll let you know when I get my hands on it..

Anyone anxious to try this? Has it already? Leave me some thoughts!

Until next time--

Tried it Tuesday-- Will you choose Essence's "Choose Me!"?

Greetings! =)

For today I have Essence's Colour & Go Nail polish in "Choose Me!" It's available at Ulta for a whopping $0.99~ Is it worth that pretty penny? Let's take a look!

Swatches:
*The color is off!! Read descriptions, please!*

The bottle is smaller than normal, but I still really like the size of the brush and the quality of the polish. Two coats is more than enough for even, opaque color.

See how the bottle is more green? This polish is blue-based (which you see on nail) with green glitter, making it almost a turquoise. For some reason my camera was being a punk.

Blue base~ this was after 2 days wear WITHOUT base coat/topper. Not much chipping!

Here is a better picture from another blog of the TRUE color:

And mine without flash, so you know I'm not a liar. ;)

It is an excellent dupe of OPI's Catch Me In Your Net:

Such a gorgeous color! Maybe not for those of us who are still in Winter, but it will fit in nicely with all of the Peacock colors we will be seeing in the spring!!

What are you wearing on your nails?

Mascara Monday: Getting catty with Maybelline Falsies DRAMA!!

Hello!

The other day I was at Target perusing the cosmetics aisle and remembered that I needed to replace my beloved Falsies Mascara. They have a new version out now that is "The Falsies Black Drama"-- the difference is that it is an "extreme matte" black. (Check out the specifics here.)

Let's take a look!

The spoon-shaped brush.

Before:

After:

I really like this mascara, if you remember the original post here. The only thing is you can easily over-apply and then you have those little clumps on the tips of your lashes. They can easily be pinched off, but still a tad annoying. It lasts all day without flaking and I haven't found it to smudge or budge at all. The spoon brush is a little different, so give it a few chances.

As far as the "Drama" goes, I didn't notice a difference in the effect with having the matte black pigment. The tube is pretty, though. =)

I recommend it! Also, you can normally find it on sale for $5!!

Have you tried the Falsies? What do you think?

Review: Boscia Luminizing Black Mask

Hello beauties!!

First of all-- lash update!
Here are my lashes after 2 days of wear:

I was overall very impressed with these! For not being a "professional" application, they really had some staying power! I kept these on for a total In the mornings I would have to apply around 5 more to fill gaps, and it really wasn't that hard or time consuming-- just took the place of mascara application, haha!

I know you must be wondering about removal, hmm? Well it really wasn't so bad, just took a little bit of time. You basically use a Q-tip to put the removal lotion on the base of the lashes to loosen/dissolve the glue and then gently wipe down with a wet washcloth. Didn't pull out any lashes (to my knowledge) and was relatively painless, just some irritation from the removal stuff if you put too much on and it goes in your eye. Duh. The ONLY downside is that now my lashes seem SUPER wimpy, *cry!*. I miss them already..

To cure my heartache? A trip to my local Sephora! Still not hiring, boo.. But I procured some samples of products to rid my nose of those pesky blackheads. Gross, I know. But I bet most of you have them, too. ;)

Here's what I got:
Murad Clarifying Toner~ to keep pores clean and clear
Boscia Luminizing Black Mask~ peel off mask, kind of like a Biore Strip
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner~ blackhead and oil extractor

To make sure I don't have any confounds in this blackhead experiment, I'm going to try each one for a few days on it's own. First up is the Boscia mask~ I am incredibly excited to try this one!! First of all, pores just fascinate me, Secondly, the woman at Sephora was so excited to talk about it, saying that it "really leaves your face just sooo luminous." Whoo! The reviews look great, too, and whoever wrote the description on Sephora.com genuinely deserves an award of some sort. I'm interested.

I shall share what it claims:
"This jet-black, mineral-rich mask creates a unique peel-off effect that delivers powerful detoxifying, purifying, and brightening results. Made with a premier-quality clay, its deep-cleansing properties draw out dirt and oil. Other natural ingredients go to work exfoliating skin and refining pores. Powerful antioxidants shrink pores, firm skin, and reduce inflammation. Once dried, the mask strips away dead skin, impurities and excess oil to reveal immediate and visible results.
"

Cleanse your face first, and then apply a semi-thick, even layer to the face, avoiding the eye area. I used this on my nose since I only have a sample, and am really just concerned with my t-zone.

Here is a picture of my pores before... Up close and personal... don't judge. ;)

With mask on:

*Listen: Do NOT apply it too close to your eyes. The minerals are fragrant and can be irritating. My eyes watered for a few minutes after application. Just be warned!

On the first application I did not see anything on the mask... I tried a second time with a thicker layer and didn't really see anything on the mask, again. Hmm..

Mask after it is peeled off:

Nose after:

I don't want to say an opinion just yet, because I want to give it a few more days to see some results.

Any tips on getting rid of blackheads? At this point mine are mostly clogged pores, not anything "pop-able" (though you SHOULDN'T pop!). I'm really hoping the vacuum cleaner will come through for me. Otherwise it's on to a Clarisonic-esque contraption! What do you use?? Please share! =)

Until next time--

NAKED PALETTE!!!!

LISTEN HERE, PEOPLE!!!

The Naked Palette is available on Sephora.com, and I'm sure for a very short time, so if you've been waiting for this one, scoop it up NOW! =D

I was lucky enough to receive Urban Decay's Naked Palette for Christmas this year (thanks Mom!!!!!) but I had been searching for it for months, so just believe me that it's hard to find!!

Urban Decay's Naked Palette retails for $44 (which is a great deal!) and comes with 12 shadows, a travel size eye primer potion, and a double-ended 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Zero (black) and Whiskey (warm brown).

The back of the packaging states:
"Our neutrals won't leave you naked. 12 multifaceted shades (including four exclusives) escalate your "basics" to rich textures of matte, shimmer, satin and sparkle. Experiment with office-appropriate, deep and smoky, or summertime bronzed looks. Go naked, not neutral... clothing is optional."

Here are pics and swatches:

It also comes with a mini Primer Potion, the cult favorite eye primer:

Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked

Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, and Gunmetal

If I were you, I'd order one this SECOND. The palette is great for everyday looks and also smoky eyes~ my friend and I used it for New Year's (along with our fake lashes, hehe).

We used Virgin on brow and inner corner, Darkhorse on lid and crease, and Gunmetal in the outer corner of the crease. You can't really see from this far, but I love it! =)

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!! Yay 2011--- good things to come!

Until next time--
