Technique Thursday-- The eyes have it!!

So this is more of a personal post because I am going to my sorority house on Friday and helping with hair and makeup, and I played with different eye looks tonight so the gals can have some ideas.

I hope you enjoy them, regardless. =)

If you're curious about any of them, tell me in the comments and I'll do a tutorial post!

I'm having a craving for TRAVEL-- Review of Cargo's Safari Kit!!

Hey all!!

Sporadic posts-- been kind of busy lately, but I'll try to be better. =)

I have lots of pictures today for you!! For Valentine's day my mom gave me Cargo's new Safari Kit!! =D
It's available at Ulta and also Cargo's Website.

I showed you this first a while back on What's New Wednesday, but now that I have it in my hands, let's take a closer look!

Packaging

Back of Packaging

Back of pouch-- So cute!! Love the colors~

Zipper toggle--- LOVE IT! And the giraffes on the stamps =D

Products included

- Blush in Coral Beach, Mini Triple Action Mascara, Eye Shadow Duo, Lip Gloss in Serengeti, and Eye pencil in Khaki

And the pouch actually holds quite a lot!

Swatches-- gold shadow, Green shadow, eye pencil, blush, and gloss.

The look on-- (I do hair after make-up, don't judge ;)

Eye close-up-- the Green isn't as yellow, I have a pic without flash later~

Side view to show blush.

Close-up of everything~

Shot of shadow without flash-- the green isn't as yellow gold, it is more of a golden olive~

I adore ALL of these colors~ They really excite me because my eyes are dark green with gold specs so it's an absolutely perfect combination, though I really think they would be flattering on most everyone.

My only complaint is that I wish the gloss was bigger, haha! I love the color, but I wish it would have been a full size. As for everything else, A+ Cargo!! The blush is shimmery without being overwhelming, it's a perfect blend of coral + bronzer, and it blends beautifully. Love love love!

The shadows are the same~ shimmery without being glittery (though the gold has larger particles than the green), and the liner has good staying power, even when I played with it on my lower inner rim. I'll do a separate post for the mascara, but just look at these pics. It's pretty great! One of the few molded bristle mascaras that I've tried which actually adds volume. Yay!

I think this kit is to die for. The makeup pouch alone is enough for me, haha, but every product in it really is something you will use multiple times.

Random: I downloaded Google Chrome last night and it is awesome. Also, I really want to take a trip somewhere. Suggestions?

What do you think? Like it? Think you'll snatch one up?? And did my mom do great or what?!

Until next time--

Fantabulous Friday!

Yeah, I know that's a weird word.. Fantabulous.. but oh-so-fun to say!! =)

I have had some requests from the boys to do a post on Valentine's Day things. SO here goes! (Hope it's not too late, haha!)

**Girls-- feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!!**

Here are a few ideas:

The Classic: Dinner and a Movie
Trust me, no girl is going to be upset with getting dolled-up and going out. Also, flowers/chocolates never hurt, either. Some couples go all-out with tis, but if you should, you probably already know. ;)

The Clever: A Romantic Dinner staying in
Another (cheaper) way to do this is to stay in and cook. We love it when you boys show us you can be all domestic, haha! A fool-proof dinner is spaghetti and meatballs, Texas toast, and maybe a cute lil dessert. Wine is a good addition, too. But still dress-up and look nice! That's one of the fun parts of this "holiday(?)." A thoughtful (and cutely-cheesy) gift is an old school "mixtape" CD. I really miss making those, actually, silly iPod... but anyhow, it shows that you put some thought into it. And if you want to do flowers, go to your local grocery store-- they are SO much cheaper than having them delivered!!

The Twist:
Do something that you both enjoy! If you like biking, just take a day to spend together and have a fun outing. Like roadtrips? Head somewhere and hit up a show or spa or something. It's about spending time together, no?

Bottom line:
This is your special someone-- ultimately, you know what they'd like to do! Don't feel like you have to follow the norms for it to be great. Just have fun! And remember-- it REALLY is the thought that counts.

Ok so here are some beauty gifts, for the gals to have some pictures to look at. ;)

Stila's Make Me Blush Set, $20 at Sephora:
How CUTE is that blush!!?

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Mood and Glow Booster Blush (review here), $11.95 at Wal-Mart
I can't get over these hearts. And it's a great blush!!

For gals who love their gloss-- Stila's Lip Glaze set, just $12 at Sephora!

And for you nail gals~
Sally Hansen's Peach Pave (from yesterday):

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wait.. I thought I lived in THE SOUTH?!

Hey all!

Well, if you watch the news/weather at all you've probably heard of the SnowPocalypse that has been hitting the south for the past week or so. Here is a pic of what we've seen:
Yeah.. that's a car.

Needless to say, I've been playing instead of writing! ;) (Including an impromptu haircut which I wish I had taken pictures of!!!) So today's post is going to be a big ol' mod podge. Enjoy! =)

Ok so first of all, I haven't really been wearing any makeup so the only review I have for you is a happy new pink shade I found at Ulta~
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Polish in Pave

I think it's a beautiful shade!! This is after 2 coats-- I think a third will make it perfect. It's just a happy peachy-pink with gold shimmer. Love! Definitely warms my heart with all of this COLD SNOW.
-Edit. Just did a third coat. It IS perfect!!

WHAT'S NEW!!!!

Let's take a peek at some of the neat new products that caught my eye:

Karen from Makeup and Beauty Blog reviewed the Urban Decay palettes I posted about last week~ they are $34 a piece and are available now at UrbanDecay.com

Speaking of eyeshadows--- NYX has a new palette out-- One Night In Morocco, $12 at Ulta

I play with it every time I'm at Ulta, haha! The colors are quite nice! Keep in mind they're all matte shadows, in case you're a shimmer gal. It's an amazing deal for $12-- and perfect for creating a Kardashian-esque smoky eye!! (I would have so snatched one up if I didn't have my Naked Palette ;)

I love this 2-in-1 product!! Innovative packaging!! Pixi Succulent Lip Twin at Target for $18:

When I can get out I am SO PLAYING with this one! It's actually a triple tasker-- the outer "dome" is a lip AND cheek tint, and the tube is the gloss. How fun!! And how happy is that color? Yay, Spring!

Another cheek tint-- I adore this packaging! Hourglass Aura Sheer Cheek Stain, $45 (!) at Sephora
Pictured here with the Aura Lip Stain

This is a water based line of lip and cheek stains-- I just adore the cheek packaging, almost like a stamp for your cheeks haha---though I would NEVER pay $45 for it!! Geez.

Also! Remember to vote in the Allure Best of Beauty awards~ link here ~ for a chance to win an $8,000 spa trip! I did mine today, and I thought I'd share some of my votes. Here are the screen shots:

Anyhow! Leave me some thoughts. Anything. What're you up to today? How's the weather? =)

Until next time--
